😴 Sleep Reset

I keep waking up in the middle of the night

✅ Something to try

Don't look at the clock

If you haven't looked at the clock— don't. If you already have — put the phone/clock face down and decide right now that the time is irrelevant.

Say to yourself: "There is still time to rest. The number doesn't matter."

This is the first and most important thing.

Why:

The single most counterproductive thing you can do when you wake up at night is check the time. Knowing it's 3am triggers a cascade — calculating hours left, projecting tomorrow's exhaustion, feeling the pressure to get back to sleep immediately. All of that keeps you awake.

You've carried enough today. Now it's time to rest.

✅ Three Truths

  1. Waking up in the middle of the night is not a sleep disorder. It's a normal part of the sleep cycle — the problem is what happens next.
  2. The frustration and anxiety about being awake keeps you awake far longer than the waking itself. Removing the pressure is the first step back to sleep.
  3. You don't need a full night of unbroken sleep to function. You need enough — and there's still time to get it.
