Give It Somewhere to Go ~1–2 min

Choose one:

  • Press: Push your feet hard into the floor, hands hard into your thighs. Hold for 5 seconds. Release. Repeat 3 times.
  • Move: Do 10 jumping jacks, walk fast for 60 seconds, or shake your hands out hard for 30 seconds.
  • Grip: Grab something firm — a towel, a cushion, the arm of a chair. Grip as hard as you can for 5 seconds. Release completely. Repeat 3 times.

You're not calming down yet. You're just giving the body's energy somewhere to land.

Why:

Anger is physical. It's energy in the body looking for an exit. If you don't give it somewhere to go, it either explodes outward or turns inward. This gives it a controlled release — without doing anything you'll regret.
